The Brandywine Ballet Company's production of  "THE  NUTCRACKER"!

Ballet students in Elementary 2, 3, 4, and 5  are invited to participate in the Brandywine Ballet's production of "The Nutcracker" in December. Complete information will be handed out in the second week of classes in September.  Elementary 2 Ballet students are eligible for the part of "Angel" in the Nutcracker.  Elementary 3, 4, and 5 must join the "Elite Division" of the school in order to be eligible for a part in the Nutcracker.  See details below.

Elementary "Elite" Division

The Dance Center's Elite Division is a group of talented, hard-working young dancers performing age-appropriate parts with the Brandywine Ballet in their annual full-length productions.  The Dance Center feels too much pressure is placed on young students who have to "audition" to be a part of a young, performing group.  Therefore, the opportunity is given to anyone in Elementary 3, 4, and 5 to join, providing they fulfill the requirements set forth below:

*Dancers in Elementary 3 Ballet must attend class 2 times per week.

*Dancers in Elementary 4,5, and 6 Ballet must attend class 3 times per week... 2 of which must be BALLET and the additional third class may be Modern, Jazz, Hip Hop, or another ballet class.

*Each dancer must be available to rehearse for the Brandywine Ballet productions on Friday evenings, Saturday and/or Sunday afternoons.  These 3 days represent a "range" of rehearsal times.  No rehearsals for the Brandywine Ballet productions are done during class time.

*Each dancer will be charged a separate performance fee from the Brandywine Ballet (not The Dance Center).

* More detailed information is handed out the second week of classes in September.  For more information, contact the Brandywine Ballet office directly at (6l0) 692-6402.

The Brandywine Ballet Company and The Brandywine Ballet Theatre

The Brandywine Ballet Company is a separate, non-profit regional ballet company in which The Dance Center is the Official School. Students 11 years old or older have first preference for acceptance into the company, however it is not guaranteed. If accepted into the company these students will be guaranteed at least 2 performances per year as well as acceptance into master classes. The commitment of the ballet company is far greater than that of the Elite program. Complete details and a sample contract are available at The Brandywine Ballet office (6l0) 692-6402.

The Brandywine Ballet Theatre
is the professional arm of The Brandywine Ballet organization. Students who qualify technically and at least entering their 10th grade year of school are eligible to audition. These students are a select group of dedicated dancers who will train daily and work toward a professional career in ballet. These students will be guaranteed at least 3 performances per year. Complete details and a sample contract are available at The Brandywine Ballet office (6l0) 692-6402.
